North Walsham Trip

On Thursday, as part of our learning about our local area, we went for a walk around North Walsham to learn that map-reading skills help us to find our location.

I was so impressed with Fauns! Their behaviour was outstanding and meant that they were able to make great learning choices and have extra opportunities like some time in the market to look at the features of the buildings and the town. They also asked some really interesting questions, which I've now got to find the answer to:

When was the North Walsham Market Clock built?
How long did it take to build?
Why was were market clocks built?

If you have any suggestions please let us know!

I'd also like to say a HUGE thank you to the parent helpers who were able to accompany us. Thanks to their support, we were able to learn in groups of 3 or 4, which really helped to give the children the opportunity to take their time and get the support they needed. It also let me take more of a leading role and really get across the key learning messages that I wanted to. Thank you!

Here are some photos of them having their extra time in the market admiring the market clock and pondering the world's mysteries...

Photo Binge

It was World Book Day last Wednesday and we were lucky enough to take 'virtual' part in the live webcast with the WBD authors. It was such a great experience and the children were collapsing with laughter throughout most of it. What a great idea from the WBD gang! Here are some photos of the children enjoying themselves...

Which book did your child buy with their token?

Cross Country

Better late than never! The Area Cross Country was held at our school last Friday and it was fabulous! There were several schools from the area and hundreds of children, all of whom were absolutely brilliant competitors - the atmosphere was so positive. :D

A huge well done to everyone who ran and a massive thank you to Mrs Warren for organising the whole event. Now, for your enjoyment, here are some finish line photos!! (Please forgive the 'dual children' - slow shutter speed!)
