Talking Monsters!!

Groups 1 & 2 have been learning that speech uses specific rules. They drew some monsters and created some imaginary conversations for them to have. Here are some examples:

Here are some of their conversations:

"I have bigger wings than you." laughed Rockman.
"Oh no you don't I do!" sniggered Suker.
"Oh no you don't!" said Rockman.
"I'm coming for you!" whispered Suker.

"I will suck your powers!" growled Suker.
"Ahhh!" screamed Buggy.

"Look at my head." cried 3D.
"It's so big because I can do all my times tables!" replied Rockman.

"Do you like my star-shaped eyes?" whispered Lucy.
"Yeah! They look really fishy," laughed Rosie.
"They do not Rosie." screamed Lucy!
"I was just kidding." Lucy quietly said.

"Look at my fangs Buzzed Robo." said Ruby.
"Yeah they're horrible Ruby, you should get them cleaned!" yelled Buzzed Robo.
"No they don't!" yelled Ruby.
"Oh yes they do!" teased Buzzed Robo.

Well done to everyone on your great learning!

Literacy

Thursday 5th May 2011.

Today I have been learning about paragraphs and clauses. I have found out that if you want to use a 'clause' you have to put a comma before you start and a comma at the end, for example, John, lives at 123 Harvey Drive, and is watching television. Paragraphs you have to have two or three sentences in. See you tomorrow Fauns and Miss Othacehe, from George.

Colour Wheel

Group 2 spent the afternoon learning about primary and secondary colours and each learner created their own 'colour wheel' of the six colours. They all took great care over the use of their artistic skills and the wheels have all come out beautifully. Special congratulations to Megan H, Emily, Arek, Nathan, Ben, Blake and Katy for their immaculate wheels.

Lilac Writing

Well done to Fauns, who have all been so busy this morning learning about letter writing and using this learning to write some letters inviting people to the opening of our Fantasy Garden on the 27th May.

So far, I've seen some great work. It is quite tricky to find lots to say in quite a succinct letter and yet they've all done a great job. Harry's even giving directions to the playground!

Well done all of you!

Miss Othacehe

Fauns are great!

Wow! It's great to read on your wonderful blog about all your great learning, Fauns. I am truly impressed with you and I look forward to reading more about the things you have learned.
Ms Brumby.

Time Capsule

Yesterday, Year 3 were writing messages about themselves to put in a time capsule in the Fantasy Garden. We will bury it on the 27th May at the official opening. Until then please feel free to send things in to put in the time capsule!

Sequences

We've been learning about sequences today. Fauns have made lots of progress in their understanding, which is brilliant, most even going on to using negative numbers. Great job!

Well done in particular to Chloe, Jack C, Harley and Drew who all made great progress independently!
